The Center for Effective Discipline (CED) is a non-profit organization which provides educational information to the public on the effects of corporal punishment of children and alternatives to its use. It is currently the headquarters for and coordinates both National Coalition to Abolish Corporal Punishment in Schools (NCACPS) and End Physical Punishment of Children (EPOCH-USA).
National Coalition to Abolish Corporal Punishment in Schools (NCACPS), is comprised of individuals who share information on the progress of banning corporal punishment with the public and the media.
In 1996, the Center became the headquarters for End Physical Punishment of Children (EPOCH-USA) which is a supporter of the Global Initiative to End All Corporal Punishment of Children. EPOCH-USA seeks to end corporal punishment of children in all settings including homes through education and legal reform. The current members of the advisory board are listed here.

Community Shares of Mid-Ohio fundraising campaigns
The Center for Effective Discipline (CED) is now one of 57 non-profit organizations participating in workplace fundraising campaigns in central Ohio under the Community Shares umbrella. For over 15 years, Community Shares of Mid Ohio has participated in workplace giving campaigns that provide vital and stable financial support for non-profit member charities in Central Ohio.
For campaign Information, see the Ohio CCC web page: www.ohio.gov/ohioccc and
Heart of Ohio CFC web page: www.dscc.dla.mil/news/events/cfs
The campaign gives us an opportunity to raise funds to support SpankOut Day programs. Since l998, CED has funded informational programs on positive discipline for parents in Ohio and across the U.S. through small competitive grants. The programs created by non-profit organizations, churches and schools have yielded outstanding evaluations and testimonials from parents showing they have learned how to discipline children without violence.
If your organization is listed among these workplaces, please consider selecting the Center for Effective Discipline for charitable donation.
